Using TreeWalk in your network?

TreeWalk is capable of supporting a "huge" volume of traffic as it uses the "full" BIND (not a stripped down version), but the TreeWalk distribution was created with the home user or small personal LAN in mind. Using it within a Corporate network is possible, but the current setup doesn't handle the details of such an environment (such as VPNs, internal DNS servers and so on). On a small home LAN, just select a machine as the TreeWalk server, set it up with a static (fixed) IP address and install TreeWalk. After this, change any other machines' TCP/IP network configurations to use the TreeWalk machine as the primary DNS server. For example, if the machine running TreeWalk has a (fixed) IP address of 192.168.10.1 then all the other computers in your LAN will need to use 192.168.10.1 as the primary DNS server. It's that simple!
