Tweaks and Repairs

For Windows XP/2000/.NET/2003®
The "Alpha" and "Numeric" Index pages provide several visual search methods to assist with finding the tips, tweaks and repairs available from our Tip Quarry database. Those lists may not be updated regularly, but newly submitted tips will always be available through the search forms that we provide for you on most of the treewalkdns.com pages. Another alternative is to use our Site Map page.

How do I find the Tip I'm looking for?

You can use the search form you'll find in the left gutter area provided on most pages of the site. For example, with Internet Explorer 6 SP1, just place your mouse cursor after the text "Enter keywords" and click to insert a text cursor there and hold down your Backspace key until the text is deleted (you can also triple-click or use Alt + X to select it) and type in your own search terms. Finally, press on "GO", press Enter (Return) or use the 'Alt' and 'S' keys in order to retrieve the information you want. Doing that will take you to a Google page which lists pages from treewalkdns.com containing information based on your search string. You may also continue searching from the Google pages with the text box provided there. You can use your browser's Back function or the Backspace key on your keyboard to return to any previous pages you've visited. If any of the above requirements are not suitable for you, please use the Alpha and Numeric links provided in the first paragraph of this page.

What can I find when I search this site?

You can find Tweaks and Repairs for later Windows NT-based operating systems that can fix your computing woes, documented solutions through registry alterations or little-known secrets on how to make your digital experience that much better. We have content from the treewalkdns.com Forums that cover a wide variety of topics including TreeWalk DNS, and the site's TreeWalk administration pages are all available too. Sign up to become a member of our groups if you haven't already done so, or surf the informative topics as a guest.

I discovered a mistake! What do I do?

At treewalkdns.com we strive to give you the best tips. However, sometimes a simple typo or other error can lead to disastrous consequences, therefore make a reliable backup of your system and/or it's registry BEFORE performing ANY tweak, repair or tip that you find on this site or any other! Report our misgivings to us right away so that we can ensure that it may not happen again. We work hard to eliminate any problems before hand, but, even though these tweaks come from reliable sources...

We have not had time to test each and every article of content in this area and rely on you and everyone else to bring anything that is incorrect to our attention! We must refrain from accepting any and all responsibility for the implementation of any content found within this 'Tweaks and Repairs' section. This is one reason why we ask you to "...back it up BEFORE you break it!", just to be cautious.

How do I enter an appropriate search term?

Well, since we currently use an MSN search form at the left of most of our pages, you can visit "Web Search Help" to find out how to make the most of the search engine. Use your browser's Back function or the Backspace key on your keyboard to return here. You can also monitor the progress of Google's TreeWalk listings using our registered Google Search form or their other TreeWalk DNS listings that represent the treewalkdns.com site.
